oh yea

our very first project was to find 5 images and trace them one on top of the other. then we could create our own rules and place and trace the images anywhere on the tracing paper.

FINAL PROJECT

in our final project we were supposed to focus on pointing out the beauty in your everyday surroundings and somehow communicating them to the community. i created a facebook group and invited other so share their everyday beauty with others. i posted pictures and typed a description as to why i was doing it, and why they should join. i actually had some people post their pictures!

mas arte

well i was going to post some more pictures, but currently i am having difficulties in uploading them onto firefox because it is being ridiculously slow. so i will describe them in order.

1. We have the ink-shaped booklet. On each page there is one shape that is outlined but painted completely black. This project was assigned to demonstrate use of line, and shape. We focused on implied shapes, definite shapes and so on.

Memory
2. The next project i did was on a distinct memory. We were only allowed to use ink, graphite, artist tape, and paper. During the time i was working on this, i was going through a painful relationship and created an abstract piece entitled "Hope". i used ink splatters to release my emotions physically while i recalled the repressed memories.

3. The third project was eaves dropping and recreating it through using text as art. I used my stencils to achieve this goal...even though that wasn't what the professor wanted.

Wood
4. The next project was a charcoal piece. We were asked to take a picture of the side of a building and redraw it with charcoal. I photographed the side of my house (which is an old-wooden-cabin-type-thing) and drew and erased and drew and erased until i was satisfied. I was quite proud of this piece because i achieved the intended texture that i desired.

5. For the following project we were asked to find an object that would not be normally viewed as art. The reason for doing this was to show that beauty could be found in essentially everything. I brought in a flat, dirty rock and a napkin that i had used in a sushi restaurant and later wrote directions on.

art

Okay, so here is an art project that i did correlating with the song "Bruise" by the Octopus project. It is a mobile that hangs vertically, and was made out of ink, paper, salt graphite, and white prismacolor. I did an ink wash on one side and then sprinkled salt on it to absorb some of the water/ink and it made a really cool trippy affect.

This piece is was a group project that was made from charcoal and erasers. We were asked to copy (if you will) an artists work (who's name i cannot spell, but it sounds like demon-corn)
anywho,
we had to achieve distinct shades of gray to impersonate it, which we did by smudging with paper towel, erasing, and applying pressure with the charcoal in different areas.
